Functional Lab Testing

Functional medicine lab testing looks deeper into your health to find out what’s really going on inside your body. Unlike regular lab tests that might only check basic things, functional medicine tests dig deeper to uncover the root causes of health issues. These tests look at things like vitamin and mineral levels, hormone balance, gut health, and even how your body handles stress.

With this type of testing, we’re able to get a complete picture of what’s happening in your body. This helps us understand why you may be feeling tired, experiencing pain, or having trouble with things like sleep or digestion. By finding and treating the exact reasons behind these symptoms, we can work with you to create a personalized plan for better health and lasting wellness.

Cardiometabolic Testing

Many adults are at some level of cardiometabolic risk, making conditions like cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome increasingly common. Monitoring specific markers for these lifestyle-related conditions is essential for early detection and preventive care.

The CardioMetabolic test evaluates risk indicators associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD), metabolic syndrome, and Type 2 diabetes. This comprehensive test assesses key factors, such as atherogenic lipoprotein types, apolipoproteins, arterial inflammation, and the activity of lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (PLAC®). Elevated PLAC® activity can indicate active arterial plaque growth and instability, highlighting areas of concern for heart health.

Metabolic syndrome often involves insulin resistance and atherogenic dyslipoproteinemia, both of which increase risks for CVD and kidney disease.

Gastrointestinal System

gut microbiome

  • Comprehensive Stool Analysis assesses digestive function, microbiome health, inflammation, and potential pathogens in the gut.
  • Food Sensitivity and Intolerance Testing detects food sensitivities, intolerances, or allergies that may contribute to gastrointestinal symptoms.
  • Calprotectin and Lactoferrin Testing detects inflammation in the gut, often used for differentiating inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Helicobacter Pylori Testing diagnoses H. pylori infection, which is linked to ulcers and gastritis

Gene Testing

The MyHappyGenes DNA test is a genetic test designed to help people understand how their unique genes may affect their mental health, mood, and overall well-being. By analyzing a person’s DNA, the test looks at specific genetic markers linked to the production and balance of important chemicals in the brain, such as dopamine, serotonin, and others that impact happiness and stress.

This information can be helpful because it shows how your body might naturally respond to certain foods, supplements, or lifestyle habits. For example, some people might need more B vitamins or respond better to certain types of exercise to feel their best.

The Comprehensive Thyroid Panel w/Antibodies & Reverse T3 Test measures thyroid gland activity, peripheral conversion of thyroid hormone, and thyroid autoantibodies.

DUTCH Complete test: “DUTCH” stands for Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones. This test measures important hormones, like cortisol (the stress hormone), estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. It also checks how well your body is using these hormones and how they’re being broken down.

Nutrition

The Doctors Data Methylation profile evaluates the plasma levels of Methionine, Cysteine, SAMe, SAH, Hcys and Cystathionine, and provides the important “methylation index,” a ratio of SAMe to SAH.

Organic Acid Testing (OATs) assesses over 70 markers including vitamins, minerals and antioxidant status to give a comprehensive snapshot of a patient’s overall health.

Environmental Toxins

GPL-Mycotoxin testing screens for eleven different mycotoxins, from 40 species of mould, in one urine sample using the power of advanced mass spectrometry (MS/MS).

GPL Toxin testing screens for 172 different environmental pollutants using 18 different metabolites with the power of advanced mass spectrometry (MS/MS), which detects lower levels of certain genetic, mitochondrial and toxic chemical markers that conventional mass spectrometry often misses
