Former Healthcare Manager laid off during the pandemic. It was the first job I had ever been laid off from or let go from, so it had a devastating impact as much of my self-value was tied to that job. I want to say some jobs are who we are vs what we do when it comes to service, so much of my identity was attached to the job. After being unable to find similar employment and coping in negative ways by wanting to escape, I was forced to learn what was happening to my brain as I was going in circles using alcohol to cope. Once I understood what my brain was looking for instability, I realized the only way through was to sit through the discomfort and allow my brain to level out. Through journaling and sitting through the discomfort, I was able to sit and figure out the root causes of the feelings I was having.

They are not alone or crazy in the way they think;

If you want to move forward you must sit thru it and figure out the root cause;

Exercise and laughter provide great outlets.

Look after yourself and live with intention!
